A little gentle exercise and social activity?
- Litter Pick – Friday 25th October – meet at The Leas Arch at 2.00pm. All equipment will be available courtesy FHDC. Gary will be by the white van parked at the top of Road of Remembrance. If the weather is dire, then we’ll call it off, but your help and support will be invaluable – even if just for 30 minutes to an hour. You’d be surprised how much litter we can collect in a short space of time and keep our town looking tidy. It’s a great excuse to meet up for a coffee/tea too!
- Electrical Waste Recycling – every Saturday from 10am until 2pm. Opposite Boots by the HSBC Bank. AlisonjWhite999@gmail.com would welcome if you could add your name to the rota. Again, even if you can manage just 30 minutes to an hour, all would be appreciated, and this is such a worthwhile cause. The collected waste goes to SWEEEP in Sittingbourne to be stripped down and recycled rather than placed in landfill. Again, it’s Folkestone residents doing our bit.

If you’ve been tempted to buy our Go Folkestone 2025 calendar for yourself or for Christmas gifts, let me know and I can arrange to have it available for collection from the recycling stand to save postage costs. Just £9.00 per calendar and all proceeds go towards the projects that the group is involved with in order to keep our town attractive.
You will have noticed that the Leas Balcony has been painted and now awaiting directional lines to be painted indicating various lighthouses and points of interest.
You may have also seen the Foundation Stone in the Lower Leas Coastal Path which has been retrieved from a field a few miles from the town, renovated and placed close to its original home where the Folkestone Pier once stood.
Our Winter magazine is due to be printed and distributed shortly and there are always interesting stories and articles. Do you have something to say that you could share with us?
