Go Folkestone has a Green Gang which tries to help other volunteer groups including Incredible Edible in Cheriton with planters, and the Royal British Legion and the Friends with the Queen’s trees that we helped fund in Cheriton Road Cemetery. We even do litter picks, helped by FHDC equipment , suitable for the less tough, many Fridays at 2pm. Contact info@gofolkestone.org.uk. We can then put you on a WhatsApp group for instant information or on a simple volunteer list for phone or email contact.
One body we liaise with is the White Cliffs Countryside Partnership. In our next issue we will write up the excellent talk about the wildlife and geology of Seabrook Valley and Shorncliff by Melanie Wrigley that we had recently. WCCP are the stewards of the Shorncliff slopes for the developers.
THE URGENT NEXT EVENT IS A GO FOLKESTONE LITTER PICK. EQUIPMENT PROVIDED. PLEASE JOIN US AT THE LEAS ARCH AT 2PM FRIDAY 23RD JUNE. WEATHER SHOULD BE NICE.
