Announcing the return of the World Jazz Live Sessions-2025 , now taking up residency at

THE NEPTUNE BASEMENT JAZZ CLUB, on the Harbour in Folkestone.

The main entrance to the Neptune Basement Jazz Club is via the Grand Burstin Hotel underground car park, this entrance is also wheelchair accessible).(You can also get to the Neptune Basement Jazz Club through the main hotel reception entrance, then follow the stairs leading to the Basement Jazz Club, this entrance is not wheelchair accessible) 
Please note that cars must be registered at the Hotel reception to avoid parking fines.

In keeping with tradition, the jazz events will be held at the last Thursday of every  month starting from April 24th 2025.The aim is to continue to welcome outstanding musicians from different cultural backgrounds of jazz and share the natural diversity of the genre.
We have an outstanding calendar of world jazz events coming up from April to October 2025.

LUNA COHEN
Hailing from Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Luna Cohen’s music represents and reflects the rich diversity of Brazilian culture.
Over the past two decades, the London-based vocalist, described as “one of the most interesting singers and composers among the rising stars of MPB – música popular brasileira” (Time Out Barcelona), has perfected her craft and earned a spot in the foreground of the jazz scene.

2022 welcomes the release of her bold new EP, Samba que balança não cai, following her four albums to date which includes the Enderrock Award-winning Estrada do Sol (2012) for Best New Jazz Album, and a nomination for Best Album at the MIN, Spain’s prestigious Independent Music Awards, for November Sky (2016).

Cohen’s “seductive voice and natural talent for singing” (El Periodico, Spain) has been heard in various projects with her longstanding collaborator, award-winning guitarist Rob Luft, pianist Sam Watts, and as part of The 606 Club’s house band, Samara. throughout London include Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club; The Royal Albert Hall; The Jazz Café; the EFG London Jazz Festival; Canary Wharf Jazz Festival; as well as international appearances at Jamboree and Nova Jazz Cava in Barcelona and at the Mas i Mas and Terrassa Jazz Festivals in Spain.

RAPHA GRUMSER
Rapha Grumser is a Brazilian-American guitarist, composer and writer.  After studies at Berklee College of Music with jazz luminaries like George Garzone and Kenny Werner, Grumser shared the stage with Brazilian music icons such as Marcio Bahia and Roberto Menescal, who proclaimed him “one of the most exciting young guitarists since Barney Kessel.” He has performed at the illustrious Sala Cecília Meireles, Blue Note Rio and São Paulo, and the historic bossa nova bar, Beco das Garrafas. Off the bandstand, Grumser’s compositional collaboration with Palma Mater on the score for the forthcoming A Deus was awarded “best soundtrack” at Buenos Aires International Film Festival.

JASEN SANTANA
Musician multi-instrumentalist, was born in Salvador-Bahia-Brazil on 10/09/1992. He began his music career very early, with only 3 years of age he accompanied his father, the Artist Peu Meurray on his shows, who is his biggest musical influence, as well as his mother, Cida Nunes, who is also a singer.He’s been involved in projects with different concepts and music genres, national and international percussion festivals, cultural and environmental projects. MUSIC is his 1st priority and way of life!Currently living in London. He plays and produces with independent artists like him, dedicated to his solo work, in which he has been recording and composing, based on the researches of the places he visits, and the influences of the music on the streets of Salvador, Bahia, Northeast region of Brazil where he was born and raised.

*GREGG KOFI BROWN

Gregg Kofi Brown is best known for his long-standing collaborations as front man singer/songwriter and producer for afrobeat legends Osibisa, jazz fusion drumming icon Billy Cobham and jazz guitar wizard Stanley Jordan.

G. K. Brown has recorded with Brit pop stars Sting, Des’ree, Gabrielle, and has recently recorded soul afrobeat remixes with Grammy award winning DJ Louie Vega, DJ Paleface (Drake-One Dance) and an edgy afro-swing track co-written with Ed Sheeran.
