Trawler Race Weekend

Without our Trawlers, there would be no trawler race that we all love to watch. This year, we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Trawler Race Weekend events. Our purpose remains unchanged, yet the importance of raising awareness about the challenges our fishermen face and supporting our local fishing community and maritime heritage has never been greater.
Watch our trawlers compete against one another, with their crews in fancy dress and fully armed with flour cannons. Enjoy a weekend brimming with live music, dancing, a funfair, various stalls, and the famous Mison’s Annual Fish Pie Competition. We will have two fun races for the community to participate in: the raft race, the Paddle race, and much more.
