This museum masterclass looks at aspects of the archaeology of human evolution, migration, ancestry, and ethnicity. For thousands of years, people from across the world have come to Britain for many different reasons: to trade, to settle down – and occasionally to pillage and run off again. So who do we think we are?

In this masterclass, we look at the different ways we can find out about where people in the past came from, recent advances in archaeological genetics, and what objects can tell us about people and their identity. We also look at genetic testing and what it can (and cannot) tell you about your personal ancestry and heritage.

Led by Dr Andrew Richardson FRSA, Director of Isle Heritage CIC.

Tea and coffee are provided – please bring your own lunch!
