There is a very special concert being given by the London Sinfonietta Academy and is presented by Folkestone New Music.

The London Sinfonietta Academy is the foremost training scheme of its kind in the UK aimed at emerging musicians who are committed to long-term instrumental career development and would like to broaden their experience of performing contemporary classical repertoire.  The annual summer course, held in London from 16 – 20 July, culminates in public performances in London and – in an exciting first – a performance in the Parish Church promoted by Folkestone New Music.

After an inspiring week-long course the young musicians, playing side-by-side with mentors from the London Sinfonietta ensemble, will showcase their prodigious talents in a programme of British repertoire from the 20th and 21st centuries.

Their Folkestone programme will include a brand new piece by Samantha Fernando and music by Diana Burrell and Harrison Birtwistle (The World is Discovered).

Tickets at £10 can be purchased in advance by following the Folkestone New Music link on the Sounds Folkestone website
