Kim-Joy loves magical bonkers things, delighting Great British Bake Off fans with her cute animal bakes, joyful personality and quirky dress sense.

Following cookbooks and a Guardian baking column, Kim-Joy’s first graphic novel, Turtle Bread, follows the story of Yan, a socially anxious young woman, who joins a baking club and slowly comes out of her shell. Illustrated by Alti Firmansyah, it references her background as a mental-health practitioner, as well as her own social anxiety, while featuring recipes for such treats as ‘pigfiteroles’ and – of course – turtle bread.

Kim-Joy will discuss writing, baking and mental health with graphic novelist and cartoon historian Nicola Streeten, author of Billy, Me & You: A Memoir of Grief and Recovery, and The Inking Woman: 250 years of Women Cartoon and Comic Artists in Britain.
