Folkestone Symphony’s Family Christmas Concert

 This is an afternoon concert, starting at 3:00pm – there will NOT be an interval, so the concert will finish at around 4:10pm.
 
We’re very pleased to have a number of local Primary Schools joining us this year, forming a combined Choir and this will be directed by Helen Brookes.  We also have the Folkestone Young Strings taking part, which our Leader Floriane Peycelon directs, having started up the group earlier this year.
 
The full repertoire will, of course, have a very Christmassy theme to it, having children in mind in particular. We’ve therefore included John Williams’ film music from ‘Superman Returns’ in the programme, which we’re certain the children will recognise and all love.
 
You may be pleased to learn that our Conductor, Rupert Bond will be giving his voice a rest this year, giving way to Jan Leeming, who will be our Compere for the afternoon!
 
As usual, this is very much a Family Christmas Concert, when you can join in with singing a couple of traditional Carols – and you’ll be encouraged to sing along with us in the finale, with ‘The 12 Days of Christmas’ (arranged by Peter Aviss).  So do bring all the family along, together with your friends, to join us on this very festive occasion.
