Folkestone On Song – The Luxon Amit Singing Bursary

25 – 27 April 2025. In memory of Benjamin Luxon and Sheila Amit, great singers and artists, and encouragers of singers, especially in Kent.

Providing five £1000 Bursaries to singers aged 18-22 studying singing in the UK.

First round auditions via video audition -one song and one operatic/oratorio aria. Live final to take place 26th April in Folkestone. Judges: David Willison, Anna Tilbrook, James Gilchrist and Daniel and Rachel Luxon.

On April 25^th at 7pm at The Grand, we will pay tribute to the lives and careers of Benjamin Luxon and Sheila Amit Luxon in the company of David Willison, accompanist, Matthew Rose, bass, Daniel and Rachel Luxon.

James Gilchrist and Anna Tilbrook will be performing a recital on 26^th April, 3pm at The Grand with songs by Quilter, Faure, Mahler, Boulanger and Muriel Herbert.
There will be a masterclass morning 27^th April for all finalists with Anna Tilbrook, James Gilchrist and Matthew Rose.

We will provide accommodation and help with travel costs for all participants.
