Help Save Sir Jeffrey, The Queen’s Dwarf

Following on from our article in the March edition reporting the vandalism to the statue of The
Queen’s Dwarf (often known locally as Tom Thumb) that has stood in Kingsnorth Gardens
since 1928 we have had a meeting with Councillor David Monk who has agreed to match fund
£1500.00 towards having him restored, freighted and installed. It seemed a shame to let Sir Jeff
disappear after he has watched over us for 80 plus years but it does mean that we now have to
raise £750.00 or more from further grants and donations. If you have fond memories of the little
statue and would like to help keep him around for another 80 years your donations would be
appreciated. . At the moment we are hoping to have him resituated in Kingsnorth Gardens where
children can approach him and touch and compare their heights etc.
