What the Transport Committee does, has done:
Tried to re-establish a cross-channel ferry link. We have taken a delegation
(including Micheal Howard M.P.) to Boulogne to see the Mayor
Met with Stagecoach, the local bus company, to discuss improvements to
routes and services
Pushed for the high speed rail link (CTRL) to come to Folkestone
Had meetings with various train companies (Connex and Govia) to push for
improvements to the service to Folkestone
Had discussions the Ministry of Transport's consultants about the necessity
for building the Dover to Honiton motorway(M27)
Made representations about the frequent use of the M20 as a lorry park
(Operation Stack)
Complained about the inadequacy of parking at the Wm. Harvey Hospital,
Ashford
Commented to Shepway on the car parking situation in Folkestone
