Exhibition and Regeneration Conference on 13th September 2007 at the Leas cliff
hall from 9.30am to 4.30pm.
The Business show promises to be a truly outstanding event with a wealth of
benefits for visitors as well as the opportunity to make lots of new contacts.

Our regeneration Conference, taking place in the channel
suite from 10am will celebrate all that’s now happening locally and provide a
platform for us to launch an exiting 10-year economic vision for the area. Many
months have been spent consulting with local businesses, support organisations
and partners about what can be achieved and its vital now that we work together
across the community to ensure that these plans are fully realised for
everyone’s benefit.
The Channel suite can only accommodate limited numbers and therefore would urge

on first come- first -basis.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the activities of your local Chamber
let us explain that we were established here in Folkestone 100 years ago.
Channel Chamber is an independent, non-profit making and non-party political
organisation funded principally by our members and monitored nationally to
ensure that we deliver only the very highest level of service and performance.
We serve a broad and diverse group of local businesses; large and small but are
also privileged to have many voluntary and public sector organisations as
members. In total have nearly 400 members who collectively employ over 30% of
the local workforce. Through our contract with Business Link we helped 75
businesses to start up in Shepway last year, and our small team handles
thousands of business enquiries every year. Last year we arranged over 60 events
locally, which together attracted over 2,800 participants.
At our modern premises on Shearway Business Park we offer a comprehensive
“starter-office” package, with low cost easy-in-easy-out terms from as little as
£50 per week. To date we have assisted 10 local entrepreneurs to start up or
grow through this business incubator service.
Our business awards now in their fifth year, celebrate and promote the success
of our local entrepreneurs and employees. The awards dinner held every April at
the Leas Cliff Hall attracted nearly 300 attendees in 2007, and saw Folkestone
Company Red Eagle recruitment crowned Business of the year.
