How to use Trash
This is what some of our teenagers are being shown down at
“The Shed”.
Every Tuesday evening over the last few months there has been
a hub of activity with recycled materials. Be it an old dress, jeans or empty
crisp packets, all are coming into use. The group of young people of both sexes
are busily using their creative ideas to making things for a “Fashion Show” from
TRASH.
Many have given old disused clothes, household linen, bric- a- brac, snack bags
and the like; these are all going towards making garments for a “Fashion Show”
to be staged at The Leas Cliff Hall in the evening of Friday the 6th June.
Some of the students and their friends will be modelling
there outfits, others will be shown on dress forms & mannequins.
With my expertise of bag making I have been lucky to join in and show them how
to make bags to complement their outfits. It’s been great fun and although I am
only doing this for a short time I will follow their progress as the project
develops further.
At present they are looking for people who have old dress forms or mannequins
that they can either donate or loan to them for the show. There will also be
availability for people to have a stand on the night at a small charge. I’m sure
many of you would like to help the youth of our town and in this connection will
you kindly contact Emma Flower on 07841 71762 or email:
