My Conservatory Ode

With John and Brendan Neil and Mark,
This information I impart.
To tell you that they worked so well,
Conservatory finished, it looks swell.
The garden now is looking better,
With soak away to beat the weather.
Neil dug the hole,
The ground was not soft.
So in a flash his shirt came off.

He dug and dug as deep as a mine,
You too can have a body like mine.
Mark was watching quite enthralled,
To see his mate in pit installed.
While cleaning the windows,
And making them shine, said
I think you’re right it is a mine.
On Friday John and Brendan came back,
They worked so well and never slacked.

They screeded the floor for a final finish,
Their energy was undiminished.
But what is this, a lump of coal!
No it’s just a darn great hole.
All they could do was stand and stare,
That’s your fault Brendan!
Oy! That’s not fair.
While John drinks tea, like he’s at home,
Ann said to Brendan, John looks just like a Gnome.
Whilst sitting on the garden seat,
Having a rest from this great fete.
This Ode I penned information to impart.
That the hole is always greater than the part.
