The Folkestone Sandcastle Competition
Raising money for The Church Street Project, a registered
charity providing Art Therapy and Therapeutic Counselling for children in
Shepway. Children from the whole of Shepway are referred to the unit, and it
tackles problems such as truancy, behavioural difficulties, abuse and low
self-esteem.
GET INVOLVED AND HAVE A GREAT DAY OUT!!
Where? Sunny Sands Beach, Folkestone
When? Sunday 8th July 10AM start.
Teams will have up to three hours to complete their masterpieces.
The Judge: Julia Jones, singer and founder of The BritBus Tour which promotes
British music and art in the USA.
Aim: To raise £10 000 for The Church Street Project – ALL proceeds of this
competition support the project. What do you win? The winning team receives a
Trophy indicating its status as Folkestone Sandcastle King or Queen, and of
course all the usual trappings of fame and glory.
Individuals, teams, businesses and families can enter and any types of
sandcastles or sand sculptures can be made.
There are limited places in this competition, so to avoid disappointment
register now! Send a cheque of a minimum sponsorship entry fee of £20 (payable
to “The Church Street Project”) to Shane Record, The Print Room, The Old High
Street, Folkestone, Kent CT20 1RN, along with your name, your team name, the
approximate number of members of your team, your address and phone number. You
will receive in return a Folkestone Sandcastle Competition entry pack which
includes a map of how to find Sunny Sands Beach, sponsorship forms (the first
£20 raised will reimburse your minimum sponsorship entry fee) and more.
