Route 25
Route 25 is a resource for young people aged 11-20 and the
agencies that work alongside them in Tontine Street. The project is being
developed to have a significant impact on the lives of young people in Shepway,
by creating opportunities to develop skills and overcome obstacles that hinder
their participation and growth within their local community.
Route 25 can provide young people a friendly and welcoming place where, if they
choose, they can gain support from several services and agencies. These services
will be presented both informally and formally within various settings in the
centre. The settings vary from informal meeting and large communal areas, to
private and confidential counseling rooms.
Route 25 holds its own Young persons’ Forum where young people are encouraged to
participate in, and make a real contribution to the development of the services
and the opportunities available.
The centre also offers shower, laundry and clothes facilities for young people
who are ‘sofa surfing’ or who are homeless. For information on clubs, groups and
activities held within Route 25, room bookings and general enquiries please
contact Carolyn, Darrell or Dawn on (01303) 251835 or go to www.kcht.org.uk.
