Transport
Next year there will be two direct services to Canterbury an hour (ie not going
around villages such as Hawkinge) as opposed to one at the moment.
Stage Coach are getting a number of new buses (second hand from Newcastle, but
about two years old) to replace some of the ageing double deckers.
They are selling, on a trial basis, for £50 pa, freedom tickets to under 16’s
for use outside the peak morning rush hour. These are proving very popular as,
for example, the new Folkestone Academy starts at 8am.
With effect from 6th April next year the Kent & Medway free off- peak travel
tickets will be extended to cover all of London.
