Save Our Museum Campaign
As you see we were out in force in the Town centre
petitioning to save Folkestone’s Museum. If we lose this big slice of our
history through deregistering then we will be the only Town on the Kent coast
not to have our own Museum.
Already we have had many of our artefacts sent to other towns such as,
Canterbury and Maidstone. The history of Folkestone is like a family tree. We
need to know where we come from and how our ancestors lived. It’s our heritage,
once its gone it won’t come back. You can’t have a future without first, having
a past.
It is our past that shapes our future.
So lets stop the dispersal of the collections and the removal of displays until
a full public Consultation / enquiry has been achieved.
